What is plastering?
Plastering is a fairly broad term, but generally relates to any job which requires the application of plaster – this could involve the building or restoration of ceilings and walls, as well as more decorative aspects. Plasterers tend to specialise in different areas of the trade, so it can be difficult to find a company who will cover all your requirements. At PG, we employ experienced and qualified plasterers who can meet all your plastering needs, whatever they may be.
Plastering is important as it acts as the first element of the finishing stage of a building project. If errors are made during plastering, they can be hard to correct at a later date. Therefore, you should always trust anything other than a minor plastering job to a professional who knows what they’re doing.
Why might I need a plasterer?
Plastering can be divided into two major categories: solid plastering and fibrous plastering.
Solid plastering is the more common form, and acts as a base layer for a lot of construction work. Need to add a smooth finish on your walls, floors or ceilings? Then you should call upon a solid plasterer.
Fibrous plastering is much more intricate, and those skilled in this area require excellent creativity and an eye for detail. Examples of fibrous plastering include ceiling roses, or ornamental balustrades.
